Speakers

The Northwest C++ Users Group is looking for speakers for upcoming meetings.  If you or some one you know would like to make a presentation to our group and can do so on one of the open dates, please contact us at speakers@nwcpp.org.

In addition to presentations on the C++ language, we are always interested in presentations on:

  • Object-oriented analysis, design and programming
  • Patterns
  • Software tools of use to C++ programmers
  • Other topics that may enhance the career of a C++ programmer

We meet on the third Wednesday of each month in the greater Seattle metro area. Our meetings start at 6:30 p.m. with announcements and an informal Tech Talk where members can discuss their C++ problems with the group. The presentation starts at 7:00 p.m. and lasts 60 - 90 minutes, including questions from the audience.

We normally have an audience of 20 - 40 professional or advanced amateur C++ programmers. Our meetings are always free to members and non-members alike. Because we do not charge attendance, we are unfortunately unable to pay presenters or reimburse their expenses.

Past speakers have included:

  • Andrei Alexandrescu
  • Peter Coad
  • Bruce Eckel
  • Michael Hyman
  • Steve McConnell
  • Bertrand Meyer
  • Scott Meyers
  • Mike Moskowitz
  • Dan Rawsthorne
  • Jeffrey Richter
  • Bobby Schmidt
  • Alan Shalloway
  • Herb Sutter
  • Steve Tockey
  • Mark Wiseman
  • Compaq
  • Inprise
  • Jetstream Software
  • Microsoft
  • Rational Software
  • Viathan

Our site hosts have been tremendous in supplying our presenters with any a/v equipment they need (e.g. LCD projector).

If you have a presentation that you think would be prefect for our group, but you absolutely can't do it on any of the open dates below, please contact us. We may be able to work out an alternate date.
